Scroll top, three brass urn finials, hand painted wooden dial with gold gilt, turned columns, reverse painted lower tablet (has small crack), French feet with scalloped apron, label “Patent Clocks, Invented by Eli Terry Made and Sold at Plymouth, Connecticut by Eli & Samuel Terry”, 30 hour, wooden works, weight driven, key wind and pendulum clock. Measures approx. 31″ tall x 17 1/2″ wide x 4 1/4″ deep. Many Eli Terry Clocks which depict a home or building on the reverse painted glass tablet, are actual homes in the Town of Plymouth and surrounding Connecticut towns of the time period.

Samuel Terry Pillar & Scroll Mantle Clock. Original 11 in. painted wood dial with black hour numbers, floral panted corner spandrels and pierced hands; 30 hour wooden works movement with countwheel hour strike on a coiled gong, round iron side weights, brass covered pendulum bob. In a mahogany pillar & scroll case with brass finials, elegant turned side columns, cutout feet and apron with an original reverse painted tablet; signed on a paper label “Samuel Terry”. In nice condition, has door key and winding key, running, striking, has excellent repair to the crest and is in excellent refinished condition. 31 in. high x 16.5 in. wide x 4.5 in. deep. Weight: 19 lbs.
