Egyptian Revival French Bronze Clock with “Lamassu” Pediment. 4 Inch porcelain dial with black Roman hour numerals, dial has cracks. The silk thread time & bell strike movement is signed “Vincenti & Cie” The movement does not run, the strike does not function and is missing the pendulum. The gilded case has a pediment with the figure of “Lamassu”, which is a winged lion with human head which once protected cities in Mesopotamia. On each side of the dial is a standing Pharoah and at the bottom is a winged Scarab. The case is in overall good condition with some wear to the gilded finish. Dimensions: 15.5 in. high x 12.5 in. wide x 5.25 in. deep. Weight: 17.15 lbs.
