Early French Lantern Style Clock by J.B. Dutertre: circa mid 18th century. The movement’s back plate is signed in script and includes Paris. The 4″ porcelain dial is also signed by the maker. The brass case has a bell for striking on top; an alarm function is included. The sides of the case are heavy beveled glass. The brass movement has a verge escapement and is working at this time. An early key is with this clock.
(The dial has chips at all three key slots. The strike does not activate, it starts, then stops.)
