Chinese Double Fusee Mantle Clock. 7 in. porcelain dial has black Roman hour numerals and Arabic 5 minute markers, fancy pierced hands and sweep seconds hand, dial is centered in a fancy decorated brass plate with Chinese markings. Large brass double fusee movement has verge & crown wheel escapement, drop strike with bell, has good fusee chains and is in good running condition; movement is signed with Chinese characters. In a fancy teak wood case with mother of pear inlaid borders on the sliding front door, has scrolling carved corbels and feet on the base with inset mirrors. 20 in. high x 13.5 in. wide x 10.5 in. deep

Chinese Bracket Clock, Double Fusee: the engraved brass faceplate has leaf, bat, floral and dragon heads, along with 3 characters. It surrounds a 7 1/2″ porcelain dial. The brass back plate has 3 different characters engraved on it. Time and bell striking. The case looks like rosewood. Circa 1870’s.
(The clock is ticking, but the minute hand floats, so the strike could not be tested. The dial has a couple hairlines. The front glass is cracked.)

Chinese Triple Fusee Animated Bracket Clock. Carved teak wood bell-form bracket clock case with beveled front door glass, bronze filigree feet, mounts and corner trim, pierced decorated gallery at the top with flowerpots fencing in the hexagonal Chinese pagoda mounted on top with gilt bronze dragonÂs heads pointing up; the pagoda has 3 glass panels exposing the animated acrobats, painted metal back panels and turned corner columns, the double archway panel has stenciled highlights. 6 in. porcelain dial with black Roman hour numerals, fancy pierced gilt hands and sweep seconds hand, has pierced brass corner spandrels. Quality brass spring driven triple fusee movement with a filigree engraved back plate, 3 fusee cones winding from the in the rear with chains powering the time, strike and animated mechanism, duplex escapement with a large 1 3/8 in. balance wheel in running condition, strikes on the hour and also has a double bell quarter hour strike, striking 1, 2 3 & 4 double bells; after the hour strike, the animated mechanism is activated including an 8 nested bell chime as 13 spiral glass vertical rods and 2 horizontal rods rotate emulating falling rain and a row of ducks swimming right to left in the front, simultaneously with the rainfall animation, a pair of carved wood Chinese acrobat figures rotating on a platform as they pull themselves up and down on bars, the figures rotate from behind the archway to perform and then hide behind the archway. Timepiece and animated mechanisms are in working condition. In beautiful condition, original finish, bronze mounts have some tarnish and scratching to the finish, no missing or broken parts, no breaks or cracks in the wood, all mechanisms are functional, has original key. 30 in. high x 13.25 in. wide x 8.5 in. deep. 36 lbs. – Please Note: In order to bid on this item either live or absentee, you must contact FontaineÂs Auction Gallery to be approved.
