DESCRIPTION: Eight-day grandfather clock featuring an American oak case and a 19th century German movement with a rotating moondial, a secondary complication, and gilt trimmings on the face. Case is decorated with a carved crest, dolphins on the hood and base, and a mirrored back inside open to view via three glass panes in the body. Movement is fully functional and sounds on the hour and half hour; includes pendulum, movement casing key, weight/pendulum casing key, and weights. From the estate of Palm Beach collector, Ronald Brown.
