In 1851 (Census) George Douglas was a Master Watch and Clock maker and he and his wife Christina and their family were at Main Street, Bonhill, Dunbartonshire.

English Pollard Oak and Mahogany Tall Case Clock
early 19th century, in the Biedermeier taste, the hood with a stepped crown and turned ball finial, the circular dial labeled "Jas Davis, Leominster", with a time-and-strike movement along with a calendar dial, the case with an inlaid panel above the pendulum door and having a rusticated base inset with an inlaid recumbent lion.

Early Morbier 2 Wt. Tall Case Clock, 3 Pc. Case: With a steel dial that has a day of month display and is framed in brass with hammered designs, the front brass plate has been reattached to a modern backplate. The strike bell is above the newer English Grandfather movement. The 3 piece case has burr wood veneer and inlaid designs on what looks like mahogany as a base. The case has a keyhole front and a drop out access door.

Openwork brass gothic motif plates, pierced silvered chapter ring dial with hand painted Roman numerals, fusee drive chain replaced with stranded wire, white marble base and flat oval glass dome. Passing strike only. Measures 17.75 x 11 x 7 inches.
