A VERY FINE WELCH PATTI MODEL IN ROSEWOOD CASE
Description
A super example in excellent condition. Original finials intact, original dial with very, very light soiling, very minor chips near the inside ring towards the 2:00 position, light minor flakes around left winding opening, original Sandwich Glass pendulum, apparently the original glass in the door, original gutta percha knob on the door, good intact hinges, old if not original finish, nice original label on reverse, winds and runs and strikes. Very nice example.

Fine 1880 Renaissance Victorian shelf clock, solid rosewood, Welch & Co, VP #1, coil chime with amplifier, molded door with gilt decorated glass, 3/4 turned columns on each corner with rosettes, glass sides, arched crest with triple finials, finely molded base, 18″t, 12″w, 6″d. This lot includes copies of postcards of Adelina Patti, a 19th Century actress,for whom this clock was named and her New Orleans house courtyard. Good original finish/condition, missing one of nineteen rosettes.
