A great example in fancy walnut case with original finish, original dials top and bottom, good inside label for Lewis’s Perpetual calendar which drives the lower dial’s calendar readout. Measures 32 x 20 x 5.5 inches.

Condition

Very good condition, original throughout except for one of the side pieces to the base of the case – this return on the left side, as one faces the clock, is a more plain piece of walnut trim.

Welch Double Dial Calendar Clock No. 4. 12 in. painted metal dial with black Roman hour numerals on the chapter ring and inner ring with day calendar, fancy pierced black hands; brass spring driven time & strike spring driven movement has recoil escapement, count wheel strike mechanism with coiled gong, signed E.N. Welch Forestville, CT. 8 in. Lower calendar dial has 31 day chapter ring and inner 12 month calendar, B.B. Lewis patented perpetual calendar mechanism with Welch paper labels. Rosewood case is refinished and in very good condition, movement and calendar in good working condition; some black inpainting to dial and hands are repainted. 34 in. high
