E. Howard No. 397 Custom Regulator. 14 in. painted metal dial has Arabic hour numbers, sub-seconds dial, pierced diamond hands, signed E. Howard & Co. Boston. Quality brass weight driven No. 60 movement, has Graham deadbeat escapement, retaining power, signed E. Howard & Co. Boston; 4 jar mercurial pendulum with steel stick – numbered 397 and 3388 (dwt), isochronous beat adjustment on the top of the verge and original crank. In a custom cherry Colonial style case, has a tapered form with reverse graduated beveled glass panels in the door, arched bonnet with scrolled crest; restoration to base. Made for the M. Eisenstadt Jewelry Co. of St. Louis, MO, circa 1891, (as stated in a letter from Dana Blackwell). 79.5 in. high x 20 in. wide x 10.5 in deep.

Boston; has recoil escapement, damascened brass pendulum bob with wood stick, black painted weight baffle, lockdown hardware and iron No. 70 weight. Square, drop form case with floral carved spandrels and collar, turned finials, beaded frieze and original reverse painted tablet having minor black inpainting. Original finish with overcoat. 34″ H. x 15″ W. x 5.5″ D.

Boston; brass weight driven time only movement has a recoil escapement, brass pulley, iron No. 2 weight, long gilt wood pendulum stick and brass covered bob, movement signed E. Howard, Boston. In a walnut, figure eight case with carved crests, reverse painted throat and lower glasses and black painted weight baffle. Case is refinished, glasses are repainted and the dial has inpainting and a varnished overcoat. 50 in. high x 17 in. wide x 6 in. deep.

Howard & Co. Boston. 8 day brass weight driven movement is signed E. Howard & Co. Boston, has brass pendulum bob with gilt wood stick, U-shaped lead weight and ebonized wood weight baffle. Marble front case has reverse painted throat glass with black background and gilt leaf borders and stars. Has a repair to the marble dial at 9 o’clock. 30 in. high x 14 in. wide.

Boston; 8 day weight driven time only No. 5 movement has steel plates, signed in script “E. Howard & Co. Boston, 5”, has long wood pendulum stick with brass bob covered lock down hardware on the weight baffle and large No. 70 iron weight, pendulum stick is repaired. In an oak long drop case with hinged door bezel and long reverse painted tablet with black background, red panel and gilt border, black is overpainted, paper label in the bottom of the case and missing upper door glass, has a beautiful clean original finish. 36 in. high x 15.5 in. wide.

E. Howard No. 75 Regulator. Original 12 in. painted metal dial signed “E. Howard & Co., Boston”, has black Roman hour numerals and blued spade hands (tarnished); brass 8 day weight driven time only movement No. 70, signed “E. Howard & Co., Boston”, wood pendulum stick with brass covered bob, original No. 70 iron weight and brass pulley. In a carved mahogany case with turned finials over a carved trim piece, leaf carved spandrels on the corners of the upper door, square teardrop finial, corbels and floral carved border in the drop section with original reverse painted red, black & gilt tablet. In good overall condition, case has some damage to the lower bracket from the weight falling, has an enhanced original medium red-brown finish with very small spot touchups in the tablet. 34 in. high x 15 in. wide x 5.5. in. deep.
