E. Howard No. 5 Banjo Clock. 7 in. painted metal dial, has black Roman hour numerals, signed E. Howard & Co. Boston, open moon hands; brass weight driven movement signed E. Howard & Co. Boston, has recoil escapement, No. 5 weight, brass covered pendulum bob with wood stick and lower weight baffle. In a rosewood grain painted banjo style case with red, black & gilt reverse painted throat and door glasses. Case has an overcoated finish, repairs to bottom board and joints, replaced hinged screws in the lower door, repaired pendulum stick, replaced dial and repainted glasses; the ratchet spring for the drive train is loose, not allowing the clock to hold power after winding. 29 in. high x 12 in. wide x 4 in. deep.
