E. Howard & Co. No. 60 Wall Regulator. 14 in. silvered dial signed “E. Howard & Co., Boston, Mass.” has incised Roman hour numerals, Arabic 5 minute markers outside, 3.5 in. sub seconds dial, original pierced diamond hands, walnut bezel; quality brass weight driven time only movement signed “E. Howard & Co. Boston” has Graham deadbeat escapement with jeweled pallets, retaining power, original brass side weight and brass pulleys; 4 steel jar mercurial pendulum with long steel rod, numbered 275-3552. In a carved walnut case with broken pediment crest, turned finial with filigree embellishments, raised panels, scroll carvings and shells on the corners, carving with rosettes on either side of the door and teardrop finials at the base. Case is excellent original finish, original silvered dial lacks the wax in the incising. Height, 80 in.

Howard “No 60 Regulator” Wall Clock
Description
A regulator timepiece by the E. Howard Clock Company, Boston, ca 1880. The 80″ precision regulator features jeweled pallets with a dead beat “Graham” escapement, with a weight driven Mercury Compensated pendulum. The painted white dial encircled with a half round wood bezel, a crested carved walnut case surmounted by an architectural pediment with a central carved finial and swags, complemented with flanking “shell” motive carvings and a glazed door above a bracketed base with a finial. (Two flanking finials now lost). The mechanism is stamped “E. Howard & Co Boston” and is signed and dated by the the original retailer “Cook & Jacques, Trenton, NJ, December 8, 1881”. The back of the pendulum is stamped “215 3873 19.”

Howard & Co., Boston, Mass. quality brass weight driven time only movement. Graham deadbeat escapement with jeweled pallets, maintaining power, quality brass side weight and brass pulleys; signed E. Howard & Co. Boston, has a 4 steel jar mercurial pendulum with long steel rod, numbered 315-3426. In a carved walnut case with broken pediment crest, turned finial with filigree embellishments, raised panels, scroll carvings and shells on the corners, carving with rosettes on either side of the door and teardrop finials at the base; original door glass has reverse gilt lettering that reads Regulator, Manufactured for, Edward P. Lyon, Bethel, Maine, By The E. Howard Watch & Clock Co., Boston, Mass. In very good condition with a fantastic medium-dark brown finish, no breaks or repairs. 80 in. high x 27 in. wide x 13 in. deep.
