Eugene Farcot, French, 1830-1896. A Good 19th century Bronze Figural clock with Farcot's Patented Conical pendulum. 8-day time and strike skeletonized movement with Silvered chapter ring, Gilded Roman numerals, engine turned bezel, adjustable Brass and Steel pendulum with Gilded Bronze mounts and Navy Blue globe with Gilded stars, rear plate with "Anchor" trademark, serial #16673. Black Slate case surmounted by a Classical draped Bronze figure of Urania, the Greek Muse of astronomy by Jacques Fauginet (signed), on a base with Gilded Bronze mounts and incised carvings with Gold inlay, all on flared floriform bracket feet. Some surface wear, small edge flakes on Slate, lacks rear door glass, running when cataloged. 35 1/2" high.
