A mid 19th century Brewster & Ingrahams "Round Gothic" model shelf clock retailed by the "American Clock Co.". 8-day time and strike movement with a painted metal dial and Roman numerals. Mahogany case with Gothic arched top over a single door with clear dial glass and frosted cut glass lower flanked by double turned columns and finials on a flat base. Paper label 80% intact. Refinished with wear and minor damage, repainted "Brewster & Ingrahams" dial, running momentarily when cataloged. 20" high. ESTIMATE $800-1,200

Brewster and Ingrahams gothic mantel clock with refinished mahogany case, brass 8-day time and repeating (rack and snail) strike movement having the original brass mainsprings, original lower glass with wear to the transfer, upper glass replaced, original painted dial and hands, pendulum bob is not original, dial has some extra holes where the screws were relocated, original label is complete and has a protective plastic sheet over it, chip at the top front of the case, minor veneer losses at the edges, running. The repeating clocks were dropped by Brewster and Ingrahams in the mid-1800's in favor of the count wheel strike. 19 in. high x 12 in. wide x 4 in. deep.
