David Wood Mahogany and Inlaid Shelf Clock, Newburyport, Massachusetts, c. 1810, three elegantly reeded finial plinths above the starburst-inlaid crest, beaded-edge tombstone door, diamond-shaped side windows, roman numeral iron dial with a ship battle scene in the arch reading "Perry's Victory," with raised gilt decorated spandrels, diamond-tipped steel hands, turned quarter-columns with brass capitals, bird's-eye maple veneer paneled door, cast brass lion-form bail handles mounted to the case sides, all resting on a delicate set of flared french feet, eight-day time and hour-strike movement with half-moon cut-out plates, ht. 33 1/2 in.
