Chelsea Pillar & Scroll Clock. 8 in. painted metal dial signed “Chelsea”, has black hour numbers, rose & filigree corner spandrels and pierced black hands; round brass 8 day spring driven movement signed “Chelsea Clock Co., Boston” & numbered 531637 (same style movement as found in the ship’s clocks), with balance wheel, lever escapement and half hour strike on a coiled gong. In a mahogany case with broken arched crest, 3 brass finials, turned corner columns, and French style feet with wavy apron; original reverse painted tablet with pink roses in the center oval panel and gold leaf around the outside. In good condition overall with no breaks or repairs to the case, original finish, tablet has some inpainting in the back and missing screw securing the minute hand to the center post. 26 in. high x 13.5 in. wide x 5 in. deep.
