Three Chelsea Desk Clocks. 1) The 4 inch dial has a silvered finish with applied Arabic numerals, signed “Abercrombie & Fitch Co. NY. ” & “Chelsea Ship’s Bell”, has wear and scratches. The case has a copper toned finish in good condition, on four ball feet. Dent to the rear back corner. Movement is not running, ship’s bell functions. 2) The 3 inch dial has a gold finish with incised Arabic numerals, signed “Chelsea Clock Co. Boston U.S.A.”. The movement is wound tight and is not running. The case has an original bronze finish in good condition. 3) The 2.5 inch dial has a silvered finish with incised Arabic numerals, signed “Spaulding & Co., Chicago” & “Chelsea”. The beehive style case has an original bronze finish in good condition. Movement is running. Dimensions: (1) – 8.5 in. high x 6.75 in. wide x 4 in. deep; (2) – 6 in. high x 5.25 in. wide x 2.25 in. deep; (3) – 5.5 in. high x 4.5 in. wide x 2.25 in. deep. Weight: 19.50 lbs.

Two Chelsea Desk Clocks – Barometers. 1) The 2.5 inch dials have a silvered finish with the clock having incised Arabic numerals & sub-seconds dial. Signed “Hipp & Coburn” & “Chelsea”, in very good condition. The case has an original bronze finish in very good condition, mounted on four ball feet. Movement is running. 2) The 2.5 inch dials have a silvered finish with the clock having incised Arabic numerals, signed “Chelsea”, in very good condition. The case has an original dark bronze finish in good condition, needs cleaning, mounted on a mahogany base. Movement is not running, wound tight. Dimensions: (1) – 5 in. high x 7 in. wide x 2.5 in. deep; (2) – 6 in. high x 9 in. wide x 3 in. deep. Weight: 10.90 lbs.

An 8″ cast patinated bronze desk clock by Chelsea with a silver dial and a case showing two lion head supports aside the round dial.

Unless otherwise stated the condition of the mechanisms of these clocks is good, but that does not mean they run or do not need repairs. There is no guarantee of either the mechanical performance of clocks nor the completeness and originality of their parts and components. In most cases we have not removed the dials from these clocks, and have not checked inside for manufacturers or makers names for attribution.

The case has an original gilded finish with wear & scratches. Movement is wound tight and is not running. The beveled glass has two scratches. 2) The 4.25 inch dial has a silvered finish with incised Arabic numerals, signed “Chelsea”, in very good condition. The Asian style case has a scenic decorated lacquered finish and is in very good condition. Movement is not running. Dimensions: (1) – 8 in. high x 8 in. wide x 2 in. deep; (2) – 6.5 in. high x 6.5 in. wide x 2 in. deep. Weight: 11.90 lbs.
