Brass time only spring driven movement, repousse filigree brass covered pendulum bob; movement is inverted with long drop pendulum hanging from the top with crutch pointing upwards and escapement at the bottom of the movement, signed ÂChauncey Jerome, New Haven, ConnÂ. In a mahogany case with dark alligatored finish, original reverse painted door glass having some minor inpainting and overall white paint spatters. 12 in. high.

Painted wood dial has a 7 in. chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals and black painted hands; brass weight driven movement, count wheel hour strike mechanism, iron weights and brass covered pendulum bob. Mahogany case has nice crotched veneer and reverse painted tablet in the door showing Â Merchants Exchange, Philadelphia Â glass is original with original paint, no inpainting, has some flaking; original finish and good condition. 25 in. high x 17 in. wide.
