Bronze Inverted Swinger Mystery Clock. Bronze standing figure of Diana wearing long garments, exposed sandals and a crown, her right hand holds up the pendulum which has a 2 tone gridiron shaft, the spherical bob has a champlevé bezel. The dial has applied brass Roman hour numerals and floral gilt hands, has its original green finish. The unusual brass spring driven movement is contained within the sphere, an internal counter weight on an “X” shaped suspension and attached to the crutch, which engages the escapement as the pendulum swings. Sculpture and movement are both unsigned, suspension spring for internal counterweight is broken; figure missing bow and arrow quiver. 30″ high x 9″ wide x 13″ deep. Weight: 42.25 lbs.

Inverted Pendulum Mystery Swinger Clock. Alabaster 2 column portico case with dore bronze mounts and trim; a large gridiron pendulum hangs from the top of the case on a knife point suspension. The elaborate bronze pendulum bob measuring 4.5 in. containing the brass 3.25 in. dial signed “Breguet et Fils” and has black painted Roman hour numbers; the 8 day spring driven movement is contained within the pendulum bob, has a pinwheel escapement and a half hour bell strike, in running condition. Case has a small repair to the alabaster at the top and some chipping at the top fittings of the columns. 23″ high x 12.5″ wide x 5.5″ deep. Weight 23 lbs.

French Figural Mystery 2 Chain Swinger Clock. Standing cast metal figure of a woman marked in 2 places with the initials “L.S.F.”; she holds up in her right hand a gilt bronze post with crossbar having hanging chains from which the clock swings. 3 in. porcelain dial has black Roman hour numerals with gilt pierced hands, brass 8 day time only spring driven movement is encased in a bronze tub with pointer at the bottom, finial and handles at the top; the jeweled pin pallet escapement is engaged by a crutch attached to one of the handles. Clock is in good running condition with no missing or broken parts. 24 in. high.

Standing figure of Rebecca standing beside a stone well, at her feet a mirror resembles water with a border of lily pads, the standing figure wears a delicate robe which is blowing in the breeze, she leans slightly forward to look into the water with her left hand balanced against the stone well and her right hand holds up the pendulum which has a 2 tone gridiron shaft, the spherical bob has a champlevé bezel and the movement is contained within the bob; dial has applied brass Roman hour numerals and floral gilt hands, has its original green finish. The unusual brass spring driven movement is contained within the sphere, an internal counter weight on an “X” shaped suspension and attached to the crutch, which engages the escapement as the pendulum swings. Movement is singed and numbered L. Leroy & Cie. Paris, 22060; the statue is signed A. de Renieri (Aristide de Ranieri, 1880-1914, France). The white metal statue is in good condition with no breaks, damage, losses or repairs, has a good overall finish. 23.5 in. high x 16 in. wide x 11 in. deep.

Houdin Figural Mystery Swinger Clock. 6.25 in. dia. reverse painted glass dial with black Roman hour numerals, arrow style hands, a brass disc center with small unusual pinwheel mystery escapement and pendulum bob behind the hands and contained within. Dial is mounted at the top of a large 2 tone gridiron pendulum suspended on a rod held by a standing female figure; has a 3.5 in. star studded spherical bob with blue finish and applied wreath and crown on the front, the bob contains a round brass 8 day spring time only driven movement, numbered 878, which powers the clock and has an inverted pendulum crutch reaching up from the top. The spelter figure wearing spring garments, holds the pendulum up in one hand and a nest of birds in the other beside her hip; stands on a rouge marble base with 4 turned feet. 30 in. high x 9 in. wide x 9 in. deep. Weight: 21.75 lbs.

Guilmet Figural 8 Day Mystery Clock. Heavy black marble mantle case with gilt bronze handles on the sides and stands on claw feet. 4 in. dial exposing the escapement with reverse painted Roman hour numerals on the frosted chapter ring and brass bezel, beveled door glass and gilt hands. Standing on top is a gilt spelter figure holding a long pendulum with a beveled glass bob. Brass 8 day spring driven movement signed with “GLT” mark for Guilmet, has a half hour strike on a bell, crank & stirrup escapement which is exposed behind the dial. The case is in very good condition; movement is in working condition. 30 in. high x 14 in. wide x 8 in. deep. Weight: 40 lbs.

French Figural Mystery Swinger Clock. Standing cast metal figure of a woman wearing lose robes blowing in the breeze, holds a set of dividers in her right hand and holds the pendulum up in her left, the pendulum has a long brass rod with beveled glass bob, gilt finish and is numbered on the bottom “1790”; she stands on a gilt brass platform signed “PH. Mourey” and matching number 1790, as the movement runs it swivels the platform and figure slightly clockwise then counter clockwise swinging the pendulum which regulates the clock. 4 in. white onyx dial has applied pierced brass Roman hour numerals, gilt spade hands and a gilt brass bezel; round French brass 8 day spring driven movement is signed “GLT” (Guilmet) and numbered 1647, has a half hour count wheel strike on a single bell. Fluted plinth style white onyx case with gilt metal ribbon, corbel, shield mounts & feet, stands on a gilt carved wood platform base. In good running condition, no breaks, chips or repairs to the onyx. 25.5. in. high.
