Brewster & Ingrahams Onion Top Mantle Clock. Circa 1845. 6 in. original painted metal dial, blued spade & pointer hands, with Kirk’s patent repeating brass 8 day spring driven movement signed “Brewster & Ingrahams, Bristol, CT, USA” has an hour countwheel strike on a coiled gong & a brass covered pendulum bob. In a rosewood Gothic steeple onion top case with 4 turned spire finials and columns, reverse painted scenic tablet; signed on a paper label “Patent Spring Eight Day Repeating Brass Clock, made and sold by Brewster & Ingrahams, Bristol, Conn.”. Case is in nice condition with an enhanced original finish, minor veneer loss and chip to crest point, running, dial has a lacquered overcoat on original paint; old glass is not original to the case. 19.75 in. high x 11.75 in. wide x 4 in. deep.
