Brewster and Ingrahams gothic mantel clock with refinished mahogany case, brass 8-day time and repeating (rack and snail) strike movement having the original brass mainsprings, original lower glass with wear to the transfer, upper glass replaced, original painted dial and hands, pendulum bob is not original, dial has some extra holes where the screws were relocated, original label is complete and has a protective plastic sheet over it, chip at the top front of the case, minor veneer losses at the edges, running. The repeating clocks were dropped by Brewster and Ingrahams in the mid-1800's in favor of the count wheel strike. 19 in. high x 12 in. wide x 4 in. deep.

Circa 1845. 6 in. original painted metal dial, blued spade & pointer hands, with Kirk’s patent repeating brass 8 day spring driven movement signed “Brewster & Ingrahams, Bristol, CT, USA” has an hour countwheel strike on a coiled gong & a brass covered pendulum bob. In a rosewood Gothic steeple onion top case with 4 turned spire finials and columns, reverse painted scenic tablet; signed on a paper label “Patent Spring Eight Day Repeating Brass Clock, made and sold by Brewster & Ingrahams, Bristol, Conn.”. Case is in nice condition with an enhanced original finish, minor veneer loss and chip to crest point, running, dial has a lacquered overcoat on original paint; old glass is not original to the case. 19.75 in. high x 11.75 in. wide x 4 in. deep. Weight: 9.5 lbs.

Brewster and Ingrahams gothic steeple clock with refinished mahogany case, 8-day time and strike brass movement having the original brass mainsprings, glasses have been replaced, original painted dial, pendulum bob and club hands, door latch and escutcheon are replacements, full label inside the case, running. Brass springs were used in the early to mid-1840's as an alternative to steel mainsprings. The brass springs were not as reliable, and their use was quickly dropped. Finding a clock with these original ones is rare. 19 in. high x 11 in. wide x 4 in. deep.
