Original finish oak case with elaborate brass ornaments intact, embossed silvered and stippled dial with sunburst brass center, signed movement, measures 19 x 11.5 x 4.75 inches.

Condition

Very good noting a repaired split to the back left leg, all fine brass points are intact, nice finish on the metalwork.

A late 19th century French brass mantel clock. Attributed to Achille Brocot, circa 1880, having a 3″ Roman dial, the engine-turned centre with two-train movement stamped AB flanking a star and numbered 3554, the case with a break-arched top over scrollwork friezes and uprights, raised on cast bun feet, 12″, (30.5cm) high (Charles Allix records this AB stamp on carriage clocks by Brocot).

Condition

Dial – minor tarnishing to lower half. Movement lacks bell, nut and pendulum. Case, minor rubbing to corners. Fellows do not guarantee the working order or accuracy of any clocks sold.
