A mid 19th century Birge, Case & Co. triple decker shelf clock. 8-day time and strike strap brass movement with a painted wooden dial. Mahogany case with cornice top with mirrored frieze, over an upper dial door and a reverse painted center tablet over a lower door with reverse painted tablet, all flanked by turned columns, on a stepped base. Old finish with minor damage, replaced tablets, cracks in upper mirror and lower tablet, running when cataloged. 37 1/2" high. ESTIMATE $400-600

Birge Case & Co Triple Decker Clock with carved splat and half round columns separated by plain, round columns on paw feet. The center tablet is painted with an American Eagle and Shield with “E. Pluribus Unum” on the banner. The works are brass and there is a partial label in side the bottom back board.
(Upper and lower doors need repaired, the wood dial paint is worn, there is a chip on the upper right corner of the case.)

Birge and Ives triple decker 8 day shelf clock, Birge & Ives, Bristol, Conn., ca. 1830s, mahogany case with carved eagle splat, carved half columns and claw feet, hand painted dial, mirrored mid section between turned columns, reverse painted glass bottom tablet, painted wooden dial, measures approx. 35 1/2″ tall x 17″ wide x 4″ deep.

Birge & Fuller Triple Decker Shelf Clock. Original wood dial has a 7 in. black painted chapter ring with Roman hour numerals, floral painted spandrels and black painted hands; has an 8 day, weight driven brass strap plate movement, hour count wheel strike mechanism on a coiled gong, 2 iron side weights with original wood pulleys and brass covered pendulum bob on a long drop, movement signed ÂBirge & Fuller, Bristol, CT, USAÂ. In an Empire mahogany case with overhanging cornice top, long turned half columns over serpentine corbels, 2 glass panels in the upper door with reverse painted lower glass and lower door with reverse painted glass. C. 1840. Hands are repainted, minute hand repaired, glasses appear original, minor hairlines inside of the arbor holes on the dial, minor repair to the ratchet spring on the Âtime main gear, no inpainting to the dial and case is in original finish. 34 in. high x 21 in. wide x 6.5 in. deep.
