Birge and Fuller Triple Decker 2 Weight Clock: T & S; painted wood dial; brass movement; has pendulum, key, 2 weights, gong strike and iterior label. American Birge & Fuller, Bristol, Conn. Triple Decker Clock, Circa 1840, 10″ hand painted wood dial, 8-day, signed brass strap movement, Bristol, Connecticut 1844 – 1847, noted for wagon-spring movements & double steeple clocks, excellent original glass panels, case refinish lacks feet & part of top, very good working condition with normal wear. Height 33 1/2″.

Birge & Fuller Triple Decker Shelf Clock. Original wood dial has a 7 in. black painted chapter ring with Roman hour numerals, floral painted spandrels and black painted hands; has an 8 day, weight driven brass strap plate movement, hour count wheel strike mechanism on a coiled gong, 2 iron side weights with original wood pulleys and brass covered pendulum bob on a long drop, movement signed ÂBirge & Fuller, Bristol, CT, USAÂ. In an Empire mahogany case with overhanging cornice top, long turned half columns over serpentine corbels, 2 glass panels in the upper door with reverse painted lower glass and lower door with reverse painted glass. C. 1840. Hands are repainted, minute hand repaired, glasses appear original, minor hairlines inside of the arbor holes on the dial, minor repair to the ratchet spring on the Âtime main gear, no inpainting to the dial and case is in original finish. 34 in. high x 21 in. wide x 6.5 in. deep.

(case looks to have been restored, and the weights and feet are replacements from the originals.)
