August Zochlar 4 Column Empire Clock: silk string; quarter hour strike on 2 coiled gongs with a 6″ porcelain dial. Numbers around the dial’s center are 1-31 by twos. The ebonized wood case has 4 white alabaster columns, carved and painted eagle finial and a sphinx like lion on each side. The upper case also has mother of pearl shell inlay and a reverse on glass painted scene. There are 2 gold labels with the makers name and Korneuburg-Stockerauerstrasse No.12.
