Antique Pewter and Glass Whale Oil Clock/Lamp: With a glass oil reservoir on the top, held in place with pewter strips, and sitting on a saucer base. The pewter strips are marked to monitor hourly consumption. The top most “V” is for “5”. Once the lamp is lit it will burn for 15 Hours – down to the “VII” mark. This design originated during the Louis XIV reign.

The lamp has no maker’s information on it and is a later version of the original whale oil lamps.
