Ansonia “La Nord” China Mantle Clock: time and strike; 3 3/4″ marked double sunk porcelain dial with visible escapement; hour and half hour strike; rose decorated cream and blue case; back marked Bonn Germany La Nord; beveled glass; marked movement; has pendulum; very nice.

(Strike sounds a little tinny; case crazed.)

The Ansonia movement set within a black and gilt painted Royal Bonn porcelain housing with foliate and rocaille detailing throughout, the enameled dial with Arabic hours and black lance and fleur-de-lis hands and having an exposed Brocot escapement beneath a beveled glass and gilt metal mounted door, the housing marked Royal Bonn, Germany, La Nord, to reverse beneath door aperture.
H 11½ x W 14¼ x D 5 inches.

Description

This is an Eight day clock, with the half-hour gong strike. The original movement is marked “Ansonia Clock Co., patented June 18, 1882. It has a 5” porcelain dial with a beveled glass. There is the expected age cracks in the porcelain. This is an original unrestored antique clock, that will function with some fine tuning and a master key. ( 11.5×14.5×5.5 )
