Ansonia “Monarch” Mantle Clock. Original 6 in. paper dial has black Roman hour numeral, signed with Ansonia trade mark, black spade hands, and heavy gilt bronze bezel with leaf decoration and shell drop crest design; brass 8 day time only spring driven movement has an hour countwheel strike on a single bell and a brass gridiron pendulum with cut glass bob. Walnut case has an arched crest with an urn over a maidens head pediment and fancy side scroll work, scrolled filigree corbels and rounded corners on the base with a center drawer. In good condition and original finish, missing one of the handles on the urn. 24.5 in. high x 14 in. wide x 5 in. deep.

(Not running, time spring wound tight. Inside the case bottom is what looks like a cigarette burn. No key. No explanation for the darkened door frame.)

Ansonia Oak Mantle Clock – Monarch w/ Alarm. 5 in. paper dial signed “Ansonia Clock Co., New York”, with black hands, Roman hour numerals and heavy cast gilt brass bass bezel; brass 8 day spring driven movement signed “Ansonia Clock Co., New York”, has a half hour strike on a coiled gong and separate alarm mechanism striking a brass bell, 1 jar faux mercury pendulum bob with brass mounts. In an oak case with turned urn finial over a spelter maiden’s head mount, carved crest and side corbels with a single drawer in the base. In good condition, running and striking, has a partial “Monarch” label on the back, case is refinished. 24.5 in. high x 15.5 in. wide x 5.75 in. deep.

(The case is missing part of the uppermost finial. Time of strike is off. The dial has darkened. The wood finish is spotty, like something was splashed on it.)
