A late 19th century Ansonia "Columbia" model figural clock. 8-day time and strike movement with visible escapement and embossed Brass dial with porcelain markers and Roman numerals. Japanned Iron case with patinated Spelter decoration, including a figure of a shepherd boy, bas relief battle scene panels in Neoclassical frames with columns at the corners and scrolled feet. Shepherd boy has been refinished with additional older restoration, minor wear, running when cataloged. 25 1/2" high. ESTIMATE $1,000-1,500

Eight-day, half hour gong strike, porcelain enamel numeral tiles, embossed brass double sunk dial. As shown on page 406 of ‘Ansonia Clocks & Watches,’ by Tran Duy Ly, Arlington Book Company, 1998.

Measures 26 x 24.5 x 9.5 inches.

Condition

Very good as shown, noting minor discoloration, old finish appears as the original, original figure with staff, intact signed movement, the precise time keeping condition is unknown.

Swiss Clock, Columbia Pictures, 1932 – 1957: With a set key wind movement and a marked metal dial with raised Roman Numerals. In a brass case with the sun, moon, stars and a planet on it. The presentation tag reads “Louis J. Barbano In Recognition of his outstanding Service to Columbia Pictures Corporation 1932-1957”.

The clock is running at this time.

(There is some wear to the dial.)

Gilbert ÂColumbiaÂ Wall Regulator. 8 in. paper dial has black Roman hour numerals; 8 day brass spring driven, time only movement with long drop pendulum having a brass covered bob and wood stick. Walnut case has an arched crest with maidens head and pediment under a turned finial with scrolled carvings along the sides, carved lower bracket with turned finials, reverse decorated door glass with hanging floral basket and surrounding filigree. Case has an original alligatored finish, replaced minute hand and replaced finials in the base. 38 in. high.
