Beautiful elaborately decorated French rococo filigree case with figure of Shakespeare seated beside the clock tower, he holds a quill pen and a sheet of paper, a second sheet beside him reads “Hamlet, Macbeth” and the case has an overall gilt finish. 4 in. inset porcelain dial signed “Ansonia Clock Company, New York”, has black hour numbers and an exposed Brocot escapement; brass 8 day spring driven movement signed “Ansonia Clock Co.” has an half hour strike on a coiled gong.14.75 in. high x 16 in. wide x 7.5 in. deep.
