Scottish mahogany tall case clock, circa 1830, having painted spandrels featuring personifications of the continents Asia, America, Africa, and Europe, the arch painted with allegorical figures of Britannia and others, the overall imagery marked by themes of colonialism and commerce, the dial with Roman numerals and two wind holes, under swan's neck pediment hood over rectangular trunk door flanked by chamfered angles, the interior of door bearing labels of service with inscriptions, on plain plinth raised on feet, with keys, weights, and pendulum. 87" H x 18.25" W x 9.25" D.
