Howard & Co., Boston”, brass 8 day weight driven time only banjo type movement, unsigned, brass pulley and proper No. 5 iron weight, gilt wood pendulum stick, brass covered bob and wood weight baffle. In a rosewood grained banjo style case with original reverse painted black, green and gold leaf tablet and throat glass in very good condition; cleaned finish with original rosewood graining, dial has some flaking, weight baffle has a split and repair. 29 in. high x 12 in. wide 3.75 in. deep. Weight: 15 lbs.

Howard, of superior construction, all evidence pointing to its having been overbuilt and rare. Pristine working movement, stamped; signature on dial. Proper replacement of weight baffle; otherwise very fine original condition.
