England, a monumental later 19th century bracket clock in the neo Grec style, the quarter sawn oak case with chip and incised line carved molded base below a central, recessed panel with scrolling acanthus, with flanking, incised plinths supporting Gothic columns and with stylized Corinthian capitals, arched door with incised carving and bevelled glass, and steeply pitched top with carved slates, and carved leaf and twig trimmed roof, roman numeral silvered dial with subsidiary chapters for chime function and regulation, substantial, three train fusee movement sounding either Westminster or chime – on – eight – bells quarters, and striking the hours on a large coil gong

A late 19th century ebonised chiming bracket clock. Anonymous, circa 1900, having an 8″ break-arched dial, the silvered chapter ring with Roman hours, Arabic minutes and fleur-de-lis half hour divisions framing a matted centre, within cast spandrels beneath silvered subsidiary Chime/Silent and Westminster Chimes/Chime on Eight Bells dials, the movement with foliage-engraved backplate, striking on a coiled gong and quarter-chiming on a carillon, the break-arched case with flambeau cup finials over Corinthian columns, the sides with arched lattice tracery beneath leaf-capped handles on a cavetto-moulded base and brass ogee bracket feet, 19″, (48.5cm) high.
