Robert Houdin Glass Dial Mystery Clock. 4.5 in. 2 plate glass dial, the front plate has reverse painted black Roman hour numerals and gilt arrow pointer hand which moves the rear glass plate driven by gears on itÂs outer edge contained in the brass bezel. The dial is raised on dore bronze filigree molded arms raising up from the center stem containing more gears and arms connecting to the escapement of the movement, the dore bronze base has a serpentine form with applied dore filigree and maidens head and stands overall on a gilt wood platform. Round French brass spring driven silk thread movement has and hour strike on a steel bell in the base .The front mounted escapement engages a large crown wheel in the back of the movement with rotates a series of rods and gears running up through the stem and right support arm which turns the rear glass plate to which the time indicator is attached. Circa 1830, in good running condition. 17 in. high.

Houdin Figural Mystery Swinger Clock. 6.25 in. dia. reverse painted glass dial with black Roman hour numerals, arrow style hands, a brass disc center with small unusual pinwheel mystery escapement and pendulum bob behind the hands and contained within. Dial is mounted at the top of a large 2 tone gridiron pendulum suspended on a rod held by a standing female figure; has a 3.5 in. star studded spherical bob with blue finish and applied wreath and crown on the front, the bob contains a round brass 8 day spring time only driven movement, numbered 878, which powers the clock and has an inverted pendulum crutch reaching up from the top. The spelter figure wearing spring garments, holds the pendulum up in one hand and a nest of birds in the other beside her hip; stands on a rouge marble base with 4 turned feet. Running condition (broken suspension spring), enhanced dial paint, movement unsigned, overall very good condition. 30″ high x 9″ wide x 9″ deep. Weight: 21.75 lbs.

Glass Dial Pendant Mystery Bank Clock. 24 in. octagonal glass dial is reverse embossed and gilt decorated, outer ring has minute markers with large 3 in. hour numbers inside, dial has center advertising for a bank which reads ÂTime  To Start An Account and has pierced carved wood hands with counter balances. Runs on an 8 day movement signed ÂHebdomas which is contained in the counter balance section of the minute hand and completely hidden; movement is spring driven and stem wind with lever escapement and a fancy engraved bridge. In running condition, dial has 2 flaked chips on corners, but is overall very nice.

French Figural Glass Dial Mystery Clock. 10 in. beveled glass dial has black painted Roman hour numerals and minute markers, fancy silvered hands and signed Pendule Mysterieuse Brevettee; has a small spring driven watch movement behind the dial, signed on the back E. Rosset, movement is running, balance swings freely. Figural maiden, white metal base with a deep brown finish; the figure wears draped garments with exposed legs, holds a bouquet of flowers in her left hand and holds the clock dial up in her right hand. 37 in. high
