Tortoise Shell & Gold Mounted Carriage Clock. Tortoise shell case has a rectangular form with hinged rear door with 9 karat gold hinges, handle and feet marked with English hallmarks; has a 2 in. porcelain dial with gold bezel and beveled crystal, brass spring driven time only French movement has a lever platform escapement in good running condition. Has a small hairline in the side of the case under the bottom hinge. 5.75 in. high x 3 in. wide x 2.25 in. deep.

Silver Mounted & Tortoise Shell Carriage Clock. 2.25 dial has a silvered chapter ring with black Arabic numbers, blued spade hands and an engraved gilt brass center; typical brass carriage clock movement with silvered lever & platform escapement, balance swings with nice brisk motion and clock is running, has a blued coiled gong half hour strike. In a 6 paneled tortoise shell case with repousse silver mounts on the corners, silver feet and handle; case is signed on the inside frame by silversmith J. Batson. Tortoise shell is in good condition with no breaks or repairs and the silver is all intact, the latch for the back door is missing. 5.5 in. high x 3.5 in. wide x 3 in. deep.

20th century tortoise shell bracket clock has a 6.5 in. brass dial with inset porcelain Roman hour numeral inserts, pierced black hands; brass 8 day, spring driven movement signed "F.H.S., Germany" (Franz Hermle & Sohn), has a half hour drop hammer strike on 2 bells, springs are wound tight and movement is not running, has key and pendulum. In a brass & boulle inlaid case having a serpentine form with gilt brass filigree mounts, finial and feet, brass door with original glass and pierced decorated filigree, on a matching wall bracket shelf. Clock case measures 21.5 in. high. Bracket measures 12 in. high x 15.5 in. wide x 8.5 in. deep.
