Large French Bronze Chariot Clock. 5 in. porcelain dial with fancy pierced gilt hands; brass spring driven movement signed ÂA.D. Mougin & ÂBlack, Starr & Frost, New YorkÂ, has a half hour strike on a coiled gong and original pendulum w/ matching numbers. In a large case with figural 2 tone gilt and silvered bronze figure of a soldier steering a chariot drawn by 4 horses rearing back; has silvered columns and applied mounts on the front of the case and stands on claw feet. Running & in good overall condition with a good original finish showing some typical wear from age, chip on the dial at 12. Measures 12. In. high x 17 in. wide x 12.5 in. deep.

A.D. Mougin French Chariot Figural Clock: signed on the movement; time with half hour bell strike, numbered 1187. The floral painted porcelain dial is 4 1/2″ wide and has one line through the 9. The case is formed as a horse drawn chariot with driver; it sits on a separate marble base. The metal is white metal or spelter.
(The driver’s arm has been reattached; the gold finish overall has been redone.)

French Dore Metal & Green Marble Clock with a Winged Figure in a Horse Drawn Chariot: the time and bell striking movement is visible inside the chariots wheel. The movement is marked AD Mougin and LF 33700 and made in France. The porcelain ring dial is 3 3/4″w.

French Bronze Chariot of Telem-achus Clock. Gilt bronze mantle clock also referred to as ÂChariot of Diomedes after a sketch by bronzier Jean-Andre Reiche (ref. French Bronze Clocks by E. Niehuser, pp. 68-69). Large chariot with armed soldier standing in the rear, young man with lion head front drawn by 2 horses rearing back; on a rectangular base with battle axe finials, wreath, armor and weapon mounts on the front. The 4 in. bronze dial resembles the spoked wheel of the chariot with pierced design exposing the skeletonized movement, has applied porcelain hour numerals and pierced hands; brass spring driven 8 day movement signed Japy Freres, half hour bell strike and is in good running condition. 17 in. high x 20 in. wide x 5 in. deep.
