French Figural Marble & Bronze Mantle Clock. Gilt bronze seated figure of a philosopher with a pen and a basket of paper scrolls, black marble clock tower with arched top, black marble base with green marble inset panels on the front and sides with gilt bronze mounts and trim. 4 in. porcelain dial with open moon hands; round French brass 8 day spring driven movement signed “Japy Freres” & “Rollin a Paris”, has a half hour strike on a bell. Black marble has a few breaks and repairs, front feet are broken off but we do have them, no hairlines in the dial. 17 in. high x 21.5 in. wide x 7.5 in. deep.

Large bronze figure of a woman, Pandora, seated on a plinth with lion’s head on the side, she wears a loose dress and an open box lays beside her; on a dark brown polished marble base with bronze mounts and feet, unsigned. 5.5 in. black marble dial with gilt incised Roman hour numerals, gilt brass center and brass hands; large round French brass 8 day spring driven movement signed “S. Marti & Cie”, has an half hour strike on a bell, in running condition, has key and pendulum, case is in excellent condition, missing rear door. 25.5 in. high x 18 in. wide x 9 in. deep. French Industrial Marble & Bronze Bell Clock. Beautiful desk clock in the form of a large bell; silvered bronze bell with studded oak yoke and gilt bronze frame; on a rouge marble base, bell is engraved “vae mihi si non evangelisavero” (Woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel). Centered in the front of the bell is a 3 in. silvered dial with black Roman hour numerals; typical round French brass spring driven movement signed “Japy Freres & Cie”, lever platform escapement is running and has an half hour strike on a gong. 15 in. high x 11.25 in. wide x 8.25 in. deep. Weight: 27 lbs.

The French mantle clock has a classical bronze figure of a man on top wearing draping garments and holding a lyre in this left hand; he sits atop a black marble base with motifs having medallions with women heads. The dial has gilt Roman hour numerals, hands and bezel. French 8 day time & strike brass movement. The clock has damage on the base. Dimensions: 19.5 in. high x 19 in. wide x 7 in. deep. Weight: 57.67 lbs.
