A beautifully detailed and large three piece clock garniture; in white marble with a bronze dore finish, after the model by Clodion. 19th Century
The clock featuring four young bacchante figures, frolicking around a barrel shaped clock. The figures holding drinking vessels and surrounded by musical instruments. The white marble base rising on six substantial bronze feet and featuring inset bronze friezes of scrolling floral motifs and a central medallion of frolicking children. Back of bronze clock sculpture signed "Clodion".
Clock size – 21 inches to tip, 15 inches wide, 7 1/4 inches deep
