Hippolyte Azur, Paris, a fine and rare Empire style swinging mystery clock, molded, mahogany veneered oak plinth below a turned, veneered column, surmounted by a gilt putto on one knee, the figure holding a rope connected to a scrolled, gilt bracket, the bracket suspending the swinging clock with knife edge suspension, gridiron pendulum, and ornamental bob containing the two train, pendule de Paris movement signed "Pons", striking the hour and half hour on a bell, roman numeral, silvered dial with engine turned center and constant seconds at 12:00, blued steel Breguet style hands, a bar across the back of the pendulum signed "Hte. Azur 1832"
