A late 19th century Gilbert "Office Drop Calendar" model wall clock. 8-day time and strike movement with simple calendar, month and date apertures, a papered metal dial and Roman/Arabic numerals. Walnut case with molded dial door, stenciled lower and carved detail. Paper label 80% intact. Refinished with minor wear, replaced upper door (without carving), dial wear and some damage, running when cataloged. 30" high. ESTIMATE $400-600

A late 19th century Gilbert "Circle Drop" model wall clock. 8-day time and strike movement with a papered metal dial and Roman numerals marked "T. Parker & Sons, Wilkes-Barre (PA). Walnut case with carved crest and circular dial door above a rectangular lower door and pointed drop. Older finish with some wear, lacks carvings above and below lower door, dial wear, replaced lower door glass, running when cataloged. 30 1/4" high. ESTIMATE $200-300

Gilbert Maranville Office Drop Calendar Clock. Large sized 14 in. paper dial, comprised of 3 discs, the front disc contains the chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals and outer ring with 31 date calendar, signed Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co. Winsted, Ct. has cutouts for the second disc containing the sequential days of the week with Sunday highlighted in red and a cutout at the top exposing the months; the red date indicator moves automatically while the clock is running and the rear dials are manually adjusted at each months end, dials have some typical wear from age. Has a brass, 8 day movement with recoil escapement, hour strike on a coiled gong, brass covered pendulum bob and wood stick. In a walnut case having a crest with fancy scroll carvings, rosette and cornucopia carving below, reverse painted lower door glass and lower crest with sea shell carving. In original finish and good running condition, dial has some typical roughness to the paper. 34 in. high.

Very unusual Gilbert "Circle Drop" clock, similar to other "Circle Drop" models only with a custom dial to tell world time. The center portion has an applied world map which rotates with the hour hand, 24-hour dial and outer chapter ring denoting morning and evening hours, to wind you need to rotate the inner dial to expose the winding arbor, walnut case has been refinished, upper glass has been replaced, lower glass stenciling with some wear, original sandwich glass pendulum, runs for a few minutes and stops. 31 in. high x 19 in. wide x 5 in. deep, 12-inch dial.
