Ebonized wooden case with rectangular base on four flattened ball feet
High-rectangular structure with oval viewing window for the pendulum, upper part stepped and indented
All-over Empire-décor in the shape of die-stamped brass mountings with winged female figures, lions, vine tendrils and ornamental motifs, lateral lion head handles, eagle top piece

Fully functional
Condition:
The clock bears signs of age and wear. The wood partially bears tension cracks, blemishes and abrasion. The brass surface is rubbed in places. The enamel-dial with several chips, scratches and hairline cracks. The lever for the strike silent function is missing. The sound of the spiral gong is not harmonious. During in house testing, the timepiece was fully functional. The overall dimensions measure 45.5 x 27 x 15.5 cm.

A late 18th century EBONIZED STRIKING TABLE CLOCK WITH PULL QUARTER REPEAT
Signed William Hughes, Holborn, London
The case surmounted by a caddy top with brass carrying handle flanked by bud finials, glazed side panels with gilt fillets, on a moulded base. The brass dial with gilt scroll spandrels, silvered strike/silent dial in the arch, silvered Roman chapter ring enclosing date, mock pendulum and silvered signature plaque in the matted centre, with scroll hands. The movement with rectangular plates, engraved with foliate scrolls enclosing signature cartouche, five knopped pillars, twin fusees with wire lines, verge escapement with knife edge suspended bob pendulum, striking the hour on a bell mounted above the case with pull quarter repeat on six bells.
Size: 17 ½ in (44cm) high including handle.

French Empire Ebonized Portico Clock. Porcelain dial with black Roman hour numerals and fancy gilt bronze bezel with a cherub and filigree. Quality round brass 8 day spring driven time & strike movement; long gridiron pendulum has a filigree and cherub decorated bob and beat adjustment on the crutch. In an ebonized wooden case with inlaid, has 4 long twisted columns having gilt bronze capitols, feet and pierced filigree mounts. Has chips and cracking to the case, some inlay is missing. Dimensions: 20 in. high x 5.75 in. deep x 10.25 in. wide. Weight: 7.05 lbs.
