A rosewood cased early “steeple” or “sharp Gothic” clock from the workshops of J. C. Brown. Features a painted zinc dial (with some flaking, reverse painted transfer glass, and a repair label indicating a repair date of 1865. It is possible that this clock, made probably between 1835 and 1839, that this model used rolled brass springs instead of steel springs. 19 3/4″ high.
