H.J. Davies Crystal Gem Dome Clock. Has a 6 in. paper dial, black Roman hour numerals, brass bezel with crest embellishments and pierced black hands; brass spring driven movement has an hour count wheel strike mechanism with steel bell, gridiron pendulum bob with 2 silvered cylinders, movement signed H.J. Davies, New York. Walnut case has a center steel bell having a gilt finish with rosettes on either side over angled mirrors and turned finals, a round base, signed paper label on the back “Davies Sole Man’f, The Crystal Gem ” and is under a good glass dome. In very good condition, enhanced original finish, has crack in one mirror; original patented design for Ansonia’s Crystal Palace. 17 in. high x 8.5 in. dia.
