24 in. E. Howard No. 70 Regulator – Reissue. Large 24 in. painted wood dial signed “E. Howard & Co., Boston”, has black Roman hour numerals and 5 minute numbers, 3 in. sub seconds dial, large black spade hands; quality brass 8 day weight driven time only movement signed “E. Howard & Co. Boston”, has Graham deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, Geneva stop, large iron No. 1 weight, brass pulley, wood weight baffle w/ brass lockdown hardware, long gold painted wood pendulum stick and brass covered bob. In a large sized cherry No. 70 case with hinged door bezel and carved corner pieces. Case appears to be a 20th century “reissue”, reverse painted tablet is in good condition, original movement, weight, pendulum bob & hinges. 62 in. high x 30.5 in. wide x 8.5 in. deep.

Lg. E. Howard & Co. No. 70 Wall Regulator. Large E. Howard & Co. No. 70 Wall Regulator. Original 16 in. painted metal dial signed “E. Howard & Co., Boston”, has large blued spade hands and black Roman hour numerals; brass weight driven time only movement No. 5 signed “E. Howard & Co., Boston” with silvered plates, has a long ebonized wood pendulum stick with a brass covered bob, brass lockdown hardware in the wood weight baffle (replaced) and good iron No. 11 weight with brass pulley. In an oak case with hinged wood door bezel and original reverse painted lower tablet having red & black paint with gold leaf highlights and open aperture exposing the pendulum bob. In very good condition, case has an enhanced original finish with no breaks or repairs, original glass in good condition with no touchup or inpainting. 42 in. high x 20.5 in. wide x 5.5 in. deep.

Boston; 8 day weight driven time only No. 5 movement has steel plates, signed in script “E. Howard & Co. Boston, 5”, has long wood pendulum stick with brass bob covered lock down hardware on the weight baffle and large No. 70 iron weight, pendulum stick is repaired. In an oak long drop case with hinged door bezel and long reverse painted tablet with black background, red panel and gilt border, black is overpainted, paper label in the bottom of the case and missing upper door glass, has a beautiful clean original finish. 36 in. high x 15.5 in. wide.
