20th C. Swinging Eye Cuckoo Clock. An ebonized wood case with shadow box door compartment in front of the portrait of a dog painted on tin, dog has open apertures in the eyes which are animated swinging with the beat of the pendulum, single animated cuckoo bird behind the door in the crest piece; 3.5 in. porcelain dial has black Roman hour numerals and pierced quatrefoil hands, beveled brass bezel. Pierced brass 8 day weight driven movement has typical pinecone weights, count wheel strike mechanism with coiled gong and 2 whistles w/ bellow, in good working condition. 15 in. high.
