Ornate Gothic Revival French Mantel Clock, gilded metal. Exuberantly decorated portico-form clock, an arched skirt decorated with trefoils, set with columns. Size: 10 1/2 x 6 1/4 x 20 1/2 in.

Signed ‘COMPTOIR GENERAL H. RIONDET 9 BD POISSONNIERE PARIS’ on both dial and movement, original finish ormolu case with extensive cast design of a central turret flanked by winged griffins, a rounded veranda above the dial and clock movement mounted in a rounded bronze simulation of a stone wall with cut-away frieze and scrolling designs above a heraldic pendant. The convex porcelain enamel dial has hand painted roman numerals at the hour positions along with Arabic numerals at five minute increments. Measures 30 x 13 x 5 inches.

A turn of the century French Gothic Revival Bronze desk clock. 8-day time and strike triple train movement with Angelus Prayer Striking at 6:00 a.m., Noon and 6:00 p.m. (3 single tone sets of three strikes followed by 20 two tone strikes), a convex porcelain dial with Roman numerals and filigree hands. Cast Bronze case features Gothic arches and tracery with Wolves mask and paw feet detail. Minor case wear, movement quite dirty, running momentarily when cataloged. 9 1/2" high. ESTIMATE $400-600

A late 19th/early 20th century Gothic Revival Oak Hall clock by Tobey & Co., Chicago, IL. model 31023 . High quality 8-day Brass three weight movement by “Joseph Jennens, Skinner Street, Clerkenwell, London” with quarter hour striking on eight bells (Whittington) or four coiled gongs (Westminster) with fifth hour gong, finely engraved Brass dial with Silvered Chapter, seconds, Chime/Silent and Chime selector rings with upper painted Moon phase with Silvered date register and hemispheres. Exceptionally well carved case attributed to R. J. Horner & Co. with Gothic spires, upper Jester figure and hood side balcony’s supported by carved Gargoyles, carved open work waist door and lower panel with mask and Gothic tracery, carved linen-fold side panels. Original dark finish with slight wear, some tarnish on dial, running and striking and chiming correctly when cataloged. 107″ high overall.
