19th century French Empire gilt bronze mantel clock, modeled as the Empress Josephine seated with a cornucopia above the clock face with two wind holes, overall with symbols of Napoleon's empire and reign, with pendulum. DESCRIPTION: An antique French empire mantel clock with ornate gilt bronze case designed with figural group depicting a battle scene with two knights, one of whom is wounded and the other Pierre Terrail, (Lord of Bayard) defending his fallen comrade, atop a craggily patinated rock form. Case with silver dial marked with black Roman numerals and double blued steel hands. Pendulum movement impressed: "(Star) 515" Displayed in glass blown dome with wood base. Includes clock key.

Gilded Bronze with an allegorical figure of "Spring" holding a basket of flowers. Minor surface wear, hairlines in chapter ring, replaced pendulum, running momentarily when cataloged. 17" high.
