Early 18th century tall case clock with a very fine marquetry inlaid walnut case, with movement by John Ellicott. One of the most famous 18th Century English clockmakers, John Ellicott was born in 1706 and succeeded his clockmaker father who died in 1733. In 1738 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society. He later became clockmaker to King George III and made many fine and unusual clocks. [101" H x 23" W x 11 1/2" D]. Face patina worn, various splits, some losses. Missing four bun feet.

John Purdom, London, a good early 18th century table clock with pull quarter repeat, the ebonized case with molded, brass trimmed base and cushion feet, the front and rear doors with brass aperture molding and paired escutcheons, molded cornice and brass trimmed caddy top with finely pierced and engraved brass fret, and turned, gilt wood finials, the sides with knopped handles and engraved brass frets matching the top, brass composite dial with roman numeral silvered chapter ring and blued steel hands, the matted center with date aperture and mock pendulum below 12:00, Dutch style day of the week aperture above 6:00, and subsidiary strike/ silent and rise and fall regulation dials flanking a lunar date chapter with penny moon, eight day three train fusee movement, now with recoil escapement, the back plate engraved with wheatear border enframing scrolling acanthus, birds, and canephore, counting the hours on a bell, and with pull quarter repeating on six bells, with brass clad pendulum

18th century R. Whiting soft wood tall case clock, hand painted face, and wooden works. Face, bonnet and door are in tombstone form. Bonnet Door is detached, and has partial separation to top. Bonnet has turned and reeded columns. Varnish appears to be original or early. Measures approx. 83″ x 13″ x 11″

Central flat top of pediment with turned gilded finial, flanking finials alongside,dome shaped hood with flaking columns, case with Chinoiserie painted design. John Wood Mahogany Tall Case Clock. Brass dial has 10 in. chapter ring with black incised Roman hour numerals and Arabic 5 minute markers, signed John Wood, Philadelphia, sub seconds dial and 31 day sub calendar dial, has gilt pierced spandrels, moon phase dial and fancy pierced hands (repainted); quality brass, weight driven movement has drop hammer strike, iron weights, brass pulley, brass covered pendulum bob stamped V.R. Moyer with steel stick (no suspension spring). In a mahogany case, bonnet has broken arch crest with rosettes and flame finials, turned columns, large one board door having nice grain. 94 in. high
